New Scheme to collect Annual Census and weekly subscriptions

It was agreed at the Group Executive meeting in October 2006 that instead of collecting the Annual Census fee with the subs weekly, each Member would be asked to pay four payments of £6 during the year: end of January, May, June & October. These payments will be timed to coincide with school term times. It was also agreed that the weekly subs for the Beavers and the Cubs remain at £1.50, with the Scouts remaining at £2.00. This represents the first rise in weekly subscriptions since we began.

The weekly subscriptions pay for:

• School hall lets

• Purchase of equipment/materials

• Badges and awards

• Neckies

• Equipment insurance

The annual census fee pays for:

• National support and resources

• Adult training resources

• Liability insurance

• Activity insurance

• Scottish & National HQ functions
