How does it work?
When you visit the Chapelhall Scouts site they see our "search panel" and use it to specify word(s) they are looking for. When they do this the request is sent directly to the our servers which determine which pages of our site contain the desired words. We then display a list of those pages so the you can choose one.

On a regular basis the entire Chapelhall Scouts site is "spidered". This means that all content is noted and the spider works just like a very persistent visitor to our site, browsing page after page until it has followed all the links that it can find which lead to other pages of our site. It does not find the pages of our site by scanning your server's hard disk.

If you want to search for a word that you think might be contained on a web site on the Internet you should click 'web search' button then 'FIND!' after typing in your word or phrase.

If you want to search for a word that you think might be contained in the Chapelhall Scout site you should type in your word in the box provided, ensure that the "site search" button is clicked, then click on 'FIND!'.  If the Webmaster has not used a particular word in designing or updating the site it will not find it on the site search. The most recent search requests have been:-  engla, camplist, badges (9), scout promise (3), & kit list (2). The words in bold did not bring up any entries on a search. (Does the word 'engla' exist??) The word 'camplist' did not show any entries, but if the person entered 'camp list' they would have got 5 entries. Words that are spelt wrong e.g. 'gallary' instead of 'gallery' will show as no entries. Similarly, if you type in your own name and the Webmaster hasn't used your name in the web site there will not be an entry in the site search. If you type in 'I need a list for the next camp' you'll get nothing too. So, if you searched the site for the words 'first aid' you would have got the following results and an indication of which pages they are contained in:
